With a lifetime background in the global textile industry and a Master’s degree in Textile Design from the prestigious Central Saint Martins in London, UK, Mamta Dewan—a professional designer and mother of two—wanted to build something different. Frustrated by a play environment heavily dominated by batteries, screens, and low-quality plastic toys, she set out to create an imaginative alternative that sparks real-world, social storytelling.

Mamta’s exclusive designs pair story-rich illustrations with space-saving concepts, enabling collaborative play and creativity to flourish in modern homes. Under her creative direction, Role Play adapts traditional Indian textile crafts to meet the needs of modern, discerning parents who appreciate design, durability, and safety.
